What should be considered when buying crystals / stones?
When shopping, avoid some common pitfalls related to buying precious stones. Keep the following in mind before making your purchase.
SOME STONES ARE SYNTHETIC OR MADE BY HUMAN.
If a stone looks very perfect or flawless, it can be produced. Talk to the salesperson and ask about the source of the crystal.
ALL CITRINES ARE NOT NATURAL.
Most of the things that may look like citrine are amethyst heated to yellow. This changes the crystalline properties. If you want a stone, ask if it is natural citrine.
MAKE SALE OF KNOWN BRAND STONES FOR A HIGH PRICE!
Stones with a trademarked name can be marketing-friendly stones, which makes them more expensive but not more powerful. This does not mean that trademarked stones may be more expensive than their non-trademarked counterparts, but are bad or ineffective. Trademarked stones include Endless Stones, Bogie Stones, Azeztulite.
SOME STONES OF NATURAL CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN CHANGED.
Be sure to ask the salesperson if the crystal has any treatment such as dyeing, heating, treatment or coating. These can change the properties of the stones. For example, Howlite can be painted to look like turquoise, but these stones have different characteristics. If you are in the market for turquoise, it is important to ask if there is a naturally occurring crystal in unchanged form. It is useful to pay attention to these criteria before purchasing precious stones.
